The Requirements
To meet the basic qualification for the Senior Electronic Security Systems Technician opportunity, you must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.To be a good fit for the role, you should also have:
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent
- 3-5+ years of recent experience in the maintenance, repair, and installation of commercial security systems
- An associate's degree or certifications in electronics, electrical systems or related fields will be helpful but are not required
- Broad understanding of security and security systems
- Demonstrated ability to work directly with customers
- Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with the use of several of the following or similar systems; certifications are a plus:

- Ability to read CAD drawings, interpret requirements, and provide reports and documentation

- Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite applications, specifically Word and Excel; Mac skills are an advantage
- The capability of meeting the physical requirements of the role including tool use, hand and finger dexterity, ability to climb, squat, and lift up to 25 pounds; ability to stand for extended periods, etc., and work in semi-quiet to loud construction environments. - A valid driver's license and good driving record
- A military background is a plus

The Role
As a Senior Electronic Security Systems Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of electronic security systems for one key customer in the Phoenix area. You’ll maintain and repair equipment but could also install end devices such as card readers, cameras, door contacts, bio readers, exit buttons, locking hardware, control panels that direct the end devices, and much more. You will work to understand the policies, procedures, standards, and the goals of the organization and will direct the execution of all aspects of installations with those in mind.You will leverage your technical skills to successfully complete your installations with minimal supervision. We’re looking for a Tech who is self-motivated, proactive and eager to make an impact on each and every project. You’ll report to the office at the client location every day to complete your tasks, and will spend the majority of your time working independently, primarily on maintenance and repair.
More specifically, your key responsibilities will be to:
- Self-perform and manage all service calls of intrusion detection, access control, and video management and data communication systems. On-site work will include troubleshooting head-end computer systems, field hardware, field devices and sensors, and communication infrastructure including fiber optic cables.
- Complete service status reports (hard and soft copies), and other documentation as required. The use of software reporting (Service Center) is a must.
- Organize and coordinate service calls and preventive maintenance with clients to discuss service activities, changes, and developments with the customer and site personnel.
- Provide warranty service, including replacement of defective material and repair of faulty workmanship.
- Answer service calls during business hours within ten minutes. Service calls after business hours should be answered within one and a half hours.
- Perform software/firmware maintenance, including applying new releases or updates of hardware, software, technical and alert bulletins released by the access control manufacturer.
- Handle other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Assist, during downtime of service calls, the project managers and project superintendents with installation projects.
